30 Days of Self Discovery

This is my 30 day challenge: Take time out to do what I love, make positive changes, be challenged, grow and rediscover myself.

The Beginning

Many people have asked me what this “30 days of self discovery” is, so this is how it all came about.

I came to a season in life where I wasn’t sure about myself. I didn’t know what I wanted and if what I was doing was really what I was meant to be doing. I was losing confidence.

Each day I’d worry about little things that didn’t matter and fret over things that would never happen. I had a better chance of winning millions than having my fears become a reality, but I still walked around intimidated and lost.

My husband, sick of my moping, challenged me to find myself. He told me to forget about the costs and the fears and get out there. He made me set a deadline and I chose a date. It happened to be 30 days.

I started to think hard about how to explore every sphere of life and came up with this journey where I would challenge myself daily in an attempt to find out who I am, what I love, what my passions are and where I want to go.

Each day I think about the areas of life I want to explore and I set myself a challenge that will force me to take a step forward. The alternative? Be idle and accept mediocrity.

I didn’t set out on this journey only to make choices to go nowhere, so I find each day my determination to complete the 30 days increases.

I’m excited to see what happens at the end of 30 days. I don’t think it ends there. It’s just the beginning and these are baby steps towards a brighter future full of 30 day challenges that lead to greater self-awareness and confidence.

Here’s to another 30 days! I’ve nominated you for the Liebster Award! You can find details at http://1writeway.com/2013/06/28/just-call-me-ms-popularity/ If you already have the award and/or don’t want to participate, that is perfectly OK. I’m just sharing the love 🙂

Good for you! We know that feeling. We have actually just walked the Camino – 800 km starting from the base of France across to Spain. It certainly helps put things into perspective and find the inner peace we were looking for! We hope you find what it is you need to find 🙂 Namaste!
